Traditionally available in mostly red / burgandy tones, hybridization has recently (2010) given us an array of great new colors including cream, peach, pink, orange, green and white. Berry size varies acccording to color and variety but the original strain of red cultivars generally have larger berries than the new hybrid pastel colored varieties.

Gypsophilia means "lover of chalk" - as this is the sort of soil the plant likes to grow in. Its popular name, baby's breath, gives an indication of its delicate airy appearance. It's a very traditional flower and popular amongst florists as 'filler' flower in bouquets and flower arrangements.

Their big, spread and lovely blooms make you want to stare all day and admire their exquisite beauty.
